Flash Exercise 1

Now I will start to do some basic exercise of Adobe Flash.
Firstly, open your Adobe Flash, teeheehe XD

After the loading finished, it will came out a window like below.
I am using Adobe Flash CS5, so may be different than others Flash.

I click ActionScript 3.0 to start my exercise.

After click it, a blank space will come out.

Now i will explain.

There are three circle with different color in the picture.

Red Circle = Stage.Anything out of stage will not be seen after the works is done.

Yellow Circle = Library.Import everything you wanted to use into it.

Blue Circle = Time line. Decide on how many frames per second and place picture.

OK... now, For the exercise requirement has given

We need a dimension size of 400pixels x 250pixels,

12 fps ( Frames per second) and only 4 second time.

So firstly, right click the Stage, and choose Document Properties.

After that, a small window will come out, change the Dimension size to 

400px for Width and 250px for Height.

The stage will become smaller after that.

After create a Stage,

now is time to import the things we wanted to put inside into the Library.

Click File > Import > Import to Library.

After that, a small window will come out, select the Items you need and click OK.

And then, All your items will be imported to the Library window.

Now, it is time to start our Time Line.

Before we start, We have to know some Shortcut key for us to continue the works.

Here are the Important Shortcut Key:

F5 = Insert Frames.Insert the amount of frames you want.

F6 = Convert to Key Frame.Seperate or start another frames.

V  = Selection Tools.Select items.

Q  = Free Transform Tools. Free Transformation.

Ctrl + T  = Transform. For details Transformation.

After known these shortcut key, we can start our works now.

Firstly, I create and name the layer as Background.

Sets the fps (Frame per second) into 12.0fps.

After that I open my library and choose my background picture, after that click and drag the picture and put into the stage.

And now the picture has became my background.

After that, start to create frames for my background picture.

For requirement, I need to produce a 4 sec product.

So, 12 fames per second, I have to make total 48 frames for background picture.

I click at the frame 48, and then press F5.

Result is the background frame now has extended to frame 48.

Which now the background picture will remain for 4 sec.

After that, I start to Create Second layer for another picture.

When you create another new layer, the frames will extended to the same length of your first or longest frames.

And now, I name the layer as Picture 1, and drag picture into it.

The picture I put is rose, a vertical rose.

I did like to rotate it to another angle. So, I press Ctrl + T, a window has come out.I change its rotation into 25degree.

The rose now are Oblique now.

After done picture 1,I create another new layer and name it as Picture 2.

Like previous one, it automatic extended its frames to 48.

But now, I would like the picture 2 to appear in 2nd second, which is after 1 sec.

So, I click on Frame 12, and then press F6.

There is a separate came out on the Picture 2 layer start at Frame 12.

Now, I drag and put the second picture into the layer.

Remember, there is 2 white dot, one is at Frame 1 another is at Frame 12.

If you place at 1, the picture will appear from frame 1 to 11 only.

After that it will disappear.

So, place it at the Frame 12. Now the picture will start appear at Frame 12.

After done Picture 2, I create another new layer and name it as Picture 3.

Same method like picture 2 but start at 3rd second.

Press F6 at the frame 24. and then put the picture into it.

Now, I have to create a folder to group the picture together.

Create a new group layer, and then drag those three picture layer and place it into the folder. And then, I name the folder as Picture.

Lastly, I wanted add a type into it.

Fistly, create a new layer, and name it as Font.

After that, press F6 on the Frame 36 to separate it because i want it to appear at last second.

Then, I use type tools to type my words on it.

Tada! The time line is done.

If you wanted to preview it, press Enter button.

If you wanted to preview it in SWF file, press Ctrl + Enter.

To make it into a .swf file, click File > Export > Export > Export Movie...

or Ctrl + Shift + Alt + S.

Computer Graphics 3

Hello guys >.<
From nows on, this blog will be change from Computer graphic 2 to Computer Graphic 3 for assignment usage.
Hehe... This semester will learn about Adobe Flash!!
And my lecturer still are the one with passion, Madam Lydia (Chin Weng Ping).
Hopefully we will have a nice semester with learning Adobe Flash ^^

Exercise 2 Photo Retouching

1. I using masking layer to mask the background.

2. I had also used the brush tool and change its brush presets to leaf, and star to create beatiful pattern line.
3. I create a new Color layer and color the main face's hair to make it suit the background.

4. I create a Hue/Saturation layer to change its Hue and Saturation.

5. After that, I masked another two my face layer make it smaller and paste on the main picture.

6. Then I use again the brush and change the brush presets into leaves pattern and surround the two of my face picture.

7. After that, I masked some butterfly with a background picture and paste it in Main picture.
8. I change their layers to some are linear burn layer and some are color burn layer.

9. Lastly, I use type tool to type some words, and duplicate it into two.
10. One change to orange color and one remain blackk color. Black color are placed behind the orange color type.

E-wallpaper progress

Since I had decided my theme of my E-wallpaper, I had started to search the picture from Google. There are 10 pictures i chose to make my E-wall paper. But firstly, I have to create a new PSD file for E-wallpaper.

Firstly, I click File>New or Ctrl+N to create a new file.

After that, This file used to be A4 size from the requirement that our lecturer given.

So, after i click the File> New or Ctrl+N, a window will appear. Then, I click on the Preset bar to change into International Paper, after that choose the A4 size on the Size bar.

Lastly, the resolution also changed to 72 pixels/inch which required for the Assignment 1.

After that, click OK button, an A4 size file will appear.

Through the lesson that Madam Lydia had taught me, when the resolution are low, the size of the file will be a bit different than what I had set.

So, I go double checked with clicking Image>Image size button or Alt+Ctrl+I.

A window appear and show the size of the file.

And It become 20.99cm x 29.7cm, the original size will be 21.0cm x 29.7cm.

                                       

                                      

But we can't change the size of the image, so Madam Lydia asked me to not care about it because it just a little bit different. Lastly, I name the new file to Assignment 1 file.

After create a new file, it is start to do my assignment.

The first one need to do is background. I had chose the universe-like picture to become my background.

I use Rectangular Marquee Tool to select whole picture, and Ctrl+C to copy it.

After that, I pasted it at the Assignment 1 file.

The Picture I pasted it in the Assignment 1 file will be different size, so i press Ctrl+T to resize and rotate the picture I pasted to fit the A4 size background.

                                         

After done those steps, I will have a background already !

But I felt there is still have some problem to the backgorund. So, i create a new layer by click the new layer button in the Layer window. After that, I changed the layer became a color layer by clicking the top-left bar in Layer window. Then, I use brush tool and select black color, and then color the new color layer.

The background become black color, and I left the Top-right of the background remain its color.

Now looks better.

And now, it is time to add new thing on it.

I selected a Moon from a pictue to add on it. Firstly, I use the Quick Selection tool to crop oni the Moon in the piture, aftr that I press Ctrl+X to cut it out and paste it in Assigment 1 file.

Same using Ctrl+T to resize the Moon and put it at top-right size of the picture.

After that, time to repair the Moon because it have some "hole" on it.

I used Spot Healing Brush Tool to correct it. And then the Moon is "Full" again.

After Moon, It is time for the next Main soul character in legend of Mid Autumn Festival - Chang Er, A beautiful lady who fly from earth to the Moon because of eaten a miracle pill.
Like the steps I crop the moon using Quick selection tools, I crop out the picture of Chang Er.
And then I paste it in Assignment 1 file and resize it. After that, I put "her" to the right side below the Moon. Now it is look more better, but it doesnt have a old style feeling.

So, create a new "color" layer and use Brush Tool with light brown color to color both Chang Er and Moon.

Now they looks more better.

Now, it is time for Lantern.
I found an interesting dragon lantern picture. So, I chose it to be part of my picture.
Firstly, same as before, use quick selection tool to crop the dragon lantern. Second, cut it and paste it into the Assignment 1 file. Third, press Ctrl+T to resize it. After done resize press Ctrl+D or Enter key.
Lastly, I moved the Dragon Lantern layer to the back of the Chang Er layer.

And now, back to the Moon layer. I found that the Moon was not look very clear and details and its side was not look very nice because its side was uneven.
So, firstly, I click the Moon layer first, then I click Image> Auto Color. And now it looks moe details and clear. Second, I click Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur to blur the side of the Moon by 2.5pixels of Radius.
And now, The Moon look better.

After that, back to Chang Er and Moon's color layer.
I just call this layer as color layer 2, because I had use the first color layer on back ground.
If we magnified the picture, we will saw there is some color layer over out from the Chang Er and Moon.
So, I used Eraser Tool to recorrect it.

After the repairation, it is time for adding other pictures.

Now I wanted to make some normal lantern we play during Mid Autumn Festival.

Firstly I want to make a lantern background.

Same like before, using Quick Slection Tool to crop out the lantern.

And then, paste it on the Assignment 1 file. I call this layer as Lantern background 1.
After that, resize it by pressing Ctrl+T and press Ctrl+D after done resize and adjustment.
Then, Move the Lantern Background 1 to the back of the Dragon Lantern.
Lastly, I used Dodge tool to Lighten the Lantern.

Before

 And now it is time for the main Lantern.
Same like always crop with Quick Selection tool.
But this time, there are some black part top-left side of the lantern.
After crop, paste it in the Assigment 1 file and press Ctrl+T to resize it.
Then, I use the Polygonal Lasso tool to cut away the unused black part.
A complete lantern has done.
After that, I use Rectangular Marquee Tool selected the side of the Lantern.
Because I wanted to make the side of the Lantern become blur.
So, I click Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and make it to radius 1.5pixels.
After that, make another side of the lantern with same steps.

Mmm..Hmm..
It is time for eating!
In Mid Autumn Festival, sure can not abandon the Mooncake !!
Mid Autumn Festival is also called as Mooncake Festival. So, Mooncake must not be lessed!
The next picture will be Moon Cake.
Firstly, use Quick Selection Tool to crop it. Then paste it in the Assignment 1 file.
Secondly, press Ctrl+T and resize the Mooncake layer.
Lastly, I placed it under the Chang Er.

And now is time for Moon's pet, The jade bunny.
But actually I don't know the what the Jade Bunny actually look like. So, I just find a cute rabbit picture to replace it.
Same as usual, use Quick Selection Tool to crop and paste it into the Assignment 1 file.
And then, Press Ctrl+T to resize it.
Lastly, I placed the rabbit under Chang Er's another bottom side.
To let the rabbit suit the Theme of the Chang Er and Moon, I make another new color layer for the Rabbit.
Use brush tool with Light brown color and color the rabbit.
Now looks better.

And now is the problem of the Left-Bottom side of the picture.
I think I need to add something on it. So, that means I need do another lantern background.
So, I use Rectangular Marquee Tool to select all the lantern background.
And then crop it and paste on the Assignment  file.
After that resize it and place it at Left-Bottom side of the picture.
And it is now look much better. This layer I call it Lantern Background 2.

Now, It is reach the Final Steps. The Fon of the Title of wallposter.
Firstly, I nid a Mid-Autumn in Chinese word's font.
I found a picture had it.
So, I use Quick Slection Tool to crop it out and paste on the Assignment 1 file.
After that press Ctrl+T to resize it. And then  I place it on the Top-left side of the poster.
After that, It is time for English font.
I used the Horizontal Type Tool to type the "Mid Autumn Festival" with orange color.
But orange color doesnt look good, so I changed it to Violet color.
Then, I type the Date of Mid Autumn Festival for this year, with magenta color.
After that, I rearrange all the layer and adjust their position again.

My E-wallpaper is Done.
